I need more weeks like this
Nov. 13th, 2011 02:46 pmSo I gotta say this was a pretty epic week for me ^_^
- Abilify has been added to my drug plan \o/ there was no way I could afford to take it, which is why my doctor had been sampling me until now. And with a fresh supply of pills I've been noticing positive results again.
If that wasn't great enough I give you this:
-
Oh Yes! That is none other than Martha Jone's Jacket which came in on Tuesday from Abbyshot I'm 100% thrilled with the cut and fit ^_^
And finally
- Progress on Berlin, last time to yesterday.

It doesn't feel like the home stretch yet, but I'm getting there.

It doesn't feel like the home stretch yet, but I'm getting there.
I've been on Abilify for 3 weeks now and the positive reaction I had at the beginning is still there it just hasn't got any stronger [still fades in the early afternoon] I'll take what I can get and hope that it gets better the longer I'm on it. And besides one day of serious agitation I haven't noticed any adverse side effects.
Doctor Who is back \o/
- I was a little disappointed at first, just didn't feel quite right to me, but as always my show surprised me *flails* and filled me with *squee*
- Love, love LOVE! the Doctor's new coat!
Less than a month until my uncle's wedding, which means I need to find something to wear. Am not a fan of shopping in any form, but I have found a couple of shirts I'd like to at least try on, I'm set for dress pants.
First is from Suzy Shier and the second is Rickis

Is rather unlikely I'll be able to find them in store or that they'll look good on me ^_~ but they're worth looking into.
And here's another update on Murphy. [August 16th and today]

Good Times! Happy Feet!
Dec. 21st, 2010 10:10 amIt's been just about a month now since I last posted [I = Lazy + Uninteresting] ^_~
But today is a good day! So I felt like sharing!
neekabe's down for Christmas, and instead of gifts this year we're going on a date night! Dinner and perhaps a movie if we feel like it, I'm really looking forward to this! Time with my friends who live so far away = Shiny! *happy feet*
The pillow I made for my cousin Alwin has finally reached Holland and has been received at the delivery office. So *fingers crossed* it'll arrive at his door before Christmas [although they celebrate Christmas earlier in Holland] I realize that a pillow is less likely to be damaged on a long trip than something like glass etc. But I'm still eager to hear from Alwin to know it made it there alright.
I haven't been stitching a whole lot lately I've been lacking interest in just about everything these past few months, but it should come back *fingers crossed* Mum was finally able to get Romeo framed

am most pleased ^_^
Although I haven't done anything significant with my large patterns I have created a little something for Shuffles, which I really REALLY can't wait to show her ^_^ I'll share a link here, for any who'd like to see. That's okay eh Shuffles? I seem to recall doing something like this when I was working on Whiskers.
Click the image to see the actual pattern.

I've also begun work on designing a wedding announcement for my uncle Mark who's getting married this coming September to Samantha *Happy Days!* we all knew it was going to happen, I called the engagement the day it happened actually. I'd decided awhile back that this is what I'd want to do for a wedding gift. I'll be sure to share pictures once I get beyond layouts on the computer.
But today is a good day! So I felt like sharing!

Oops! I'd meant to update well before now, but I kept getting distracted [*coughs*lazy*coughs*]
The first thing I'd meant to share was a picture of the finished pillow my aunt created from the cross-stitch of Ome Jan and Joachim.

It's on its way to Holland, I'd like to say 'well on its way' but all I really know at the moment is, its left Canada.
Second - Alwin would very much like for me to come visit him in Holland! Something I definitely want to do at some point in my life, I'm just not in the right mental place at the moment *sigh*
And take a look at this!

I'm positive I've mentioned before how my sister and I were going to exchange our crafts, I'm stitching her a picture of Dodger [her kitty] and she'd crochet me an afghan.
Last I'd heard from her, was that she was going to try and finish it in time for Christmas, you can imagine my surprise when she had it ready for me [washed and still slightly warm from the dryer] when I got up on my birthday! *snuggles into blanket* It's so nice and warm! *happy feet*

Jan and Joachim
Oct. 29th, 2010 09:32 amI've finished!! \o/
I really wanted to share pictures with you yesterday, but I finished the last stitch in the late afternoon so the pictures I took weren't as nice as I'd like. So here now! Look and see ^_^
Just as a recap
Subject: My Ome Jan and his grandson Joachim
Started: March 9th 2010
Finished: October 28th 2010
Fabric: 32ct Linen [stitched over-2]
Colors: 64

I wish I could say that all I have to do now is mail the pattern to Holland...but first I must turn it into a pillow. I'll be getting the fabric today and my aunt Noelle has offered to help me, as I don't really have the skills to make this work.

Never be afraid to ask
Aug. 25th, 2010 08:42 amAs I mentioned awhile back, I'm slowly switching over my earrings to 14K Gold Labret Studs [at least I think I mentioned...I could be remembering a post I started and then deleted ^_~ those happen a lot.]
I already have five new earrings - a twist, emerald, turquoise, tourmaline and peridot. Unfortunately the setting for the peridot couldn't stand up to my sleeping with it in. I'm pretty sure I know why too. The other three stones all have flat bottoms, so the three prongs are holding them flat to the setting, here's a macro picture of the emerald

The peridot on the other hand was cut in the same fashion as a diamond [meaning it had the pavilion on the bottom] so the three prongs were holding the stone but I guess not with the same strength.
Most of the earrings I still need have the better setting Cabochon [flat bottom] I can think of three off the top of my head though that are exactly like the peridot, which won't do. And two be honest although the Cabochon haven't let me down, I'd must prefer to have a stronger setting since I have no intention of removing 15 earrings each night before I sleep.
Freshtrends has wonderful sales reps you can speak to on the site, that's how I found out about a new style their offering called Bezel looks like just what I need. But since its so new their site only has that setting with diamonds right now.
They custom make each order when you place it [kinda annoying due to the added time] so I was hoping I could special order the stones I want in that setting and I think they're going to let me, they wanted to know what I needed so they could give me an estimate for cost. *happy feet* And since they're planning on slowly bringing out all the birthstones in a bezel setting if I happened to loose any of my three remaining stones, I'll be able to replace it ^_^ *much happy feet*

\o/ LOOK!!
May. 2nd, 2010 09:27 pmI have done it!
I've finished Whiskers for
seregil \o/
Started: December 5th 2009
Finished: May 2nd 2010
This is huge! Not only is she my first finish of 2010 [here's hoping for many more!] but she was also the first pattern that I stitched where 100% of the picture was cross-stitched. Up until now my patterns have only been partial, letting the fabric show through.

So there you have it. I hardly know what to do with myself right now.
After taking a few minutes to let it all sink in, I brought out Kiba and put him back on a frame so I could continue work on him. Present top priority is Ome Jan though, since that pattern has a deadline and I want it finished well before.

he won me over with Fish-custard!
Apr. 25th, 2010 10:40 amI don't know why I haven't made a post about this before now, who knows? I'll blame it on insanity like I aways do [is an excellent excuse]
I've seen the first 4 episodes of Doctor Who's 5th season and I have to say I'm 100% thrilled with Eleven's performance! I was skeptical like a lot of people but I think that was mostly because I just loved Ten and couldn't imagine enjoying the show in the same way without him.
Well you might call me fickle [mum does, quite a lot actually] but I love Eleven's character just as much perhaps even more. I know that I'm easier to please some when it comes to TV shows/movies I realized now that part of the reason for this, is that my brain automatically fills in the blanks of a plot gap the way I'd deal with it if I were writing.
I was totally won over by Eleven with his Fish-custard! Right in that conversation with Amelia I could totally see Ten in him, and that's all I needed for him to be my Doctor. I've been watching each new episode with
sergil which has simply been epic-ness! ( spoilery stuff )
Can't wait for next Saturday! this is the very first time I've watched the first half of a two parter without having the second episode waiting in the wings. Of the two parters that have been in the new Who I thought this one left off at a pretty good point.
Oh and I think Amy is brilliant!! [seems like an afterthought I know, but as Shiny as she is, she can't out shiny the Doctor. No one can]

I don't believe it!
Well I guess it was about time, since working on Romeo I really wasn't doing much else. I'm still struggling with a writer's block which is more like a massive re-enforced cement wall, coated in barbed wire with laser turrets ready to shoot anything insight and all of this is guarded by dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you. Not to mention the moat filled with hungry crocodiles and all of this is inside a huge hedge maze you'll never find your way through.
Needless to say I haven't written a single thing in more than a month. I'm starting to feel guilty again about The Same Coin probably because I received a nice review from a reader hoping for more story. I also never really thought I'd go this long without writing. *sad face*
I'm very out of it today, I haven't been sleeping well for the past weeks so I took 2 Trazodone last night which I used to do a lot [this medication is handy 'cause its not habit forming. I've up and stopped it on several occasions without any trouble but with the depression I'm really not sleeping period.] I found a few months back that 2 Trazodone leaves me exhausted the next day. Not sure what I'm going to do now since 1 isn't doing enough. I'll try 1 again tonight and hope it does the job.
Saturday I finally got to see Star Trek at my uncle's theater [its like being in the real thing] and I absolutely loved it just like I thought! I want to see it again there's some things I want to look for now that I know they're there [ie. the Tribble behind Scotty's shoulder] I'm definitely going to have to get it when I have a little extra money. And I'm looking forward to the next movie which has been announced, they left themselves a wonderful opening for sequels.

As I've mentioned on a few occasions I'm using a small desk lamp to back light my black linen making it a lot easier to stitch. And despite my claims that I would never stitch on black again, I already know that's a lie, I've already got another pattern planned.
Romeo really likes this little lamp as it produces a lot of heat. If he isn't sticking his face into it or warming his toes under it. He's trying to lie down. So I moved it up to the top plat form of this little kitty tree and tipped the head down so it was closer to him. I think he liked it.
And he's a picture of the progress I've made on the Romeo cross-stitch as of tonight. I've completed 2/4 pages and the last two aren't even full pages.

Won't be much longer until I'm done!

Today's been kinda good.
My cross-stitching pattern maker came in the mail and I've created my first pattern [I've got a lot of them in mind] But I told my mum months ago that I'd cross-stitch a picture of her kitty Romeo. She picked this picture

I thought it would look rather striking against black fabric. So this is the first pattern I'll attempt on linen [lady at the store thought I was crazy]
Also the pattern for Kiba [white wolf] came today as well. Now I have lots to do but not all the thread I need. I managed to pick up more than half of the thread for Romeo and Tuesday I'll get the rest along with supplies for Kiba.
Despite the fact that I've been keeping busy my moods have been down, frustrated and discouraged I guess. Still haven't written a word...not sure managing anything would help me all that much right now. Just thinking too much, I must learn to shut off my brain.

I has some, sort of happy feet [I'll take what I can get for the moment]
Surprise, surprise my new needles came in the mail today

I now own three Spiral Eye Needles and if they work as well as I hope I shouldn't need to buy anymore...that is of course if I can avoid loosing any of them. I have no idea how many times I've placed a needle down without really thinking about where I'm putting it. It's stupid and I'm trying to break myself of the habit.
Not 100% decided on what I think of the spiral eyelet these needles have but so far I like them. I haven't run into the problem of the thread slipping out, someone I spoke to thought that might be an issue.
Ran into a little problem with the color I'm working with right now. I was near the end of the spool of 840 so grabbed out the thread I'd bought awhile back. Comparing the two I see a distinct different. My dad figures it's a matter of different dye lots, I'm pretty sure it won't be noticeable in the patter *fingers crossed* Not much I can do about it though.

As promised
Oct. 30th, 2009 12:19 pm*sigh*
This writer's block is really starting to make me doubt that I'll ever be able to write again. I was really hoping that today without the cross-stitching I'd be able to sit down and finally get some writing done...it's been well over a month for me. I haven't had any luck today not even with a prompt from Shuffles.
I've thought of a couple of things but they've never made it past the initial idea either it doesn't spark enough for me or I ask myself what's the point? I already know that there are readers who would enjoy anything but I just can't seem to get anywhere. And worse yet, I don't really feel much like writing...I really want this to change, I need it to change. I miss writing!
I really Really hope not, but I'm beginning to wonder if this block is a side effect of the meds, wouldn't be the first time this happened but I don't think it feels quite like the Celexa
As promised here is the picture of Dex completely finished!
Oh and as an added bonus for you
neekabe I have some pictures of Wendy's new story. It's so wonderfully huge! And the most amazing part is, this is all the stuff that they had in the old store. They were really crammed in there tight.
I though the Avid Reader was an amazing store back in its original home, but this is perfect! Love the little fireside lounge too that just makes it.

Look they have sunlight now! or they would if it wasn't raining out and you can see Jules waving ^_^

I think I'd really love to work there! I'm not really one for wanting to work so closely with the customers but I do love Wendy she's got a cheerful personality. She one of those people who you can't help but be cheerful when you're around her. I could use all the cheering I can get.

Good Times
Oct. 17th, 2009 02:37 pmI'm still feeling hugely blocked in the writing department, a few vague ideas bobbing around in my head but nothing concrete. It might just be that I can't really think of how to start anything or that I haven't taken enough time to do it. In either case at least the cross-stitching is keeping me busy.
Here's the progress as of today.

As I said yesterday I only have the water left to do and then it'll be done. My aunt is planning on framing it so I wouldn't have to bother completing the back like I was originally planning.
Oh look! it's two kitties, who are pro at looking comfy when they sleep.

Romeo was curled up under a blanket with my sister.
Went out for a walk today...and was a very bad kitty! I stopped in on my sister at work and she got me to by and shirt and hoodie, which I love! But probably shouldn't have bought right now *hangs head* But I love them &hearts!!
At
seregil's suggestion I went looking for decent pictures to take of autumn that I could share. I was also hoping to catch some of the filming that's started up again for Happy Town but either they're done again or just for the weekend so I'll check back next week.
Needless to say I didn't find much that wanted to take a picture of, so you'll get dead/dying salmon.

Pictures taken 'cause the fish are just so big!
That is all ^_~
