yacoba: (Goodbye)
I want to thank all of you for your opinions on whether I should take the trip to Holland. I'd meant to post before now that you'd helped me to make my decision. If the opportunity came I would definitely be on the next plane out of Canada.

Unfortunately my cousin didn't realize that a $300+ ticket still had at least $300+ worth of taxes which need to be added. I wanted to be sure he knew that, 'cause as much as I want to go and experience this adventure, I wouldn't be comfortable with him spending more money than he should just because I'm excited about going.

I heard back from him today, only to find out he's sending the $200 we'd agreed on, which means no trip in February. I'm not disappointed in Alwin as I said, his offer was far to generous to begin with. But unfortunately it's easy to say don't get your hopes up, whether you like it or not they're probably already up, so disappointment is bound to happen.

Hasn't been the best of days for me to begin with so I know my mood is just feeding my disappointment. I wish I could say that I'll be able to save up for this trip at some point, but I think so long as I'm suffering from depression and therefore on disability it's unlikely I'll ever be able to save up enough to make this trip.

Best to understand that, than get my hopes up again.

Seeing how I'm on Disability I don't get the joy of receiving a tax return in the mail. But my day was still made today when I got my letter from the ODSP informing me that my medical review had been approved. Better still I don't have to worry about this in 2 years time, I've been approved until 2015.

I didn't expect to have the time between reviews lengthened, I'd been under the impression since the beginning that these were always done every 2 years. Whatever I'm not going to question it, it's one less thing that I need to worry about. I couldn't see them denying my claim, as nothing has changed in the two years that I've been on Disability, but it's one of those things that I just can't relax until I've got the piece of paper in my hand saying all is good.

On the stitching front I think I'm making excellent progress on Whiskers, and I really feel like I should make my end of April tentative goal [I refuse to call it anything else for fear of it feeling like a deadline and that would be bad]

On Saturday I finally finished stitching the black part of Whiskers' fur

I have no readjusted Whiskers on the frame for the second last time ever! And proceeded to finish the 4th page of the pattern [1 and 2 are complete 3, 5 & 6 have all been worked on]

This is the section of 4 that I had to finish mostly Whisker's arm

I didn't even notice this until I was looking at the photos on my laptop [I love this about cross-stitching] you can see the wisps of her black fur over the lighter part of her front leg.

Back to work!
