So I gotta say this was a pretty epic week for me ^_^

- Abilify has been added to my drug plan \o/ there was no way I could afford to take it, which is why my doctor had been sampling me until now. And with a fresh supply of pills I've been noticing positive results again.

If that wasn't great enough I give you this:

-
Oh Yes! That is none other than Martha Jone's Jacket which came in on Tuesday from Abbyshot I'm 100% thrilled with the cut and fit ^_^

And finally

- Progress on Berlin, last time to yesterday.

It doesn't feel like the home stretch yet, but I'm getting there.

It's been just about a month now since I last posted [I = Lazy + Uninteresting] ^_~

But today is a good day! So I felt like sharing!

[personal profile] neekabe's down for Christmas, and instead of gifts this year we're going on a date night! Dinner and perhaps a movie if we feel like it, I'm really looking forward to this! Time with my friends who live so far away = Shiny! *happy feet*

The pillow I made for my cousin Alwin has finally reached Holland and has been received at the delivery office. So *fingers crossed* it'll arrive at his door before Christmas [although they celebrate Christmas earlier in Holland] I realize that a pillow is less likely to be damaged on a long trip than something like glass etc. But I'm still eager to hear from Alwin to know it made it there alright.

I haven't been stitching a whole lot lately I've been lacking interest in just about everything these past few months, but it should come back *fingers crossed* Mum was finally able to get Romeo framed

am most pleased ^_^

Although I haven't done anything significant with my large patterns I have created a little something for Shuffles, which I really REALLY can't wait to show her ^_^ I'll share a link here, for any who'd like to see. That's okay eh Shuffles? I seem to recall doing something like this when I was working on Whiskers.

Click the image to see the actual pattern.

I've also begun work on designing a wedding announcement for my uncle Mark who's getting married this coming September to Samantha *Happy Days!* we all knew it was going to happen, I called the engagement the day it happened actually. I'd decided awhile back that this is what I'd want to do for a wedding gift. I'll be sure to share pictures once I get beyond layouts on the computer.

I've finished!! \o/

I really wanted to share pictures with you yesterday, but I finished the last stitch in the late afternoon so the pictures I took weren't as nice as I'd like. So here now! Look and see ^_^

Just as a recap
Subject: My Ome Jan and his grandson Joachim
Started: March 9th 2010
Finished: October 28th 2010
Fabric: 32ct Linen [stitched over-2]
Colors: 64

I wish I could say that all I have to do now is mail the pattern to Holland...but first I must turn it into a pillow. I'll be getting the fabric today and my aunt Noelle has offered to help me, as I don't really have the skills to make this work.

Awhile back I agreed to finish a cross-stitch pattern for a friend of my dad. I didn't know it would be a kit, I certainly didn't expect it to be a kit with a stamped on picture.

What the hell is the draw?!

Not only do the holes not actually line up with picture but the stamp itself is crooked!!! Anyone who knows how OCD I can be I'm sure can imagine how twitchy this makes me.

I thought I could be happy saying to hell with the pattern. But I find myself second guessing everything I do which definitely isn't making this easy. I'm getting aggravated at the thought of working on this pattern. [personal profile] neekabe thank you so much for getting me started with a self made kit! I think if I'd been given something like this I might never have touched cross-stitching again. Although it's really hard to say since I wouldn't have had any experience with it before then.

I would be so much happier if I could just stitch my own picture and on that note I keep adding more pictures to the list of things I want to stitch ^_~ I do however have my first paid commission, my uncle is insisting on paying me for my time. He hasn't decided yet what picture he wants me to use but he does want it to be relatively small with a high stitch count and lots of colors so this makes me happy. I'm going to stitch a pattern in the near future on 28ct using all the holes.

I had one of those completely black 'duh...' moments the other day. I was discussing stitching on 28ct and that I was sure the holes would manage two strands and it might just get really messy or whatever. I was about to post a question on the cross-stitch community to see what their experience was. And that's when it occurred to me, in all its shining glory! whether doing over-2 or over-1 you're using the same sized holes....yep...but at least it came to me ^_~

I don't believe it!

Well I guess it was about time, since working on Romeo I really wasn't doing much else. I'm still struggling with a writer's block which is more like a massive re-enforced cement wall, coated in barbed wire with laser turrets ready to shoot anything insight and all of this is guarded by dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you. Not to mention the moat filled with hungry crocodiles and all of this is inside a huge hedge maze you'll never find your way through.

Needless to say I haven't written a single thing in more than a month. I'm starting to feel guilty again about The Same Coin probably because I received a nice review from a reader hoping for more story. I also never really thought I'd go this long without writing. *sad face*

I'm very out of it today, I haven't been sleeping well for the past weeks so I took 2 Trazodone last night which I used to do a lot [this medication is handy 'cause its not habit forming. I've up and stopped it on several occasions without any trouble but with the depression I'm really not sleeping period.] I found a few months back that 2 Trazodone leaves me exhausted the next day. Not sure what I'm going to do now since 1 isn't doing enough. I'll try 1 again tonight and hope it does the job.

Saturday I finally got to see Star Trek at my uncle's theater [its like being in the real thing] and I absolutely loved it just like I thought! I want to see it again there's some things I want to look for now that I know they're there [ie. the Tribble behind Scotty's shoulder] I'm definitely going to have to get it when I have a little extra money. And I'm looking forward to the next movie which has been announced, they left themselves a wonderful opening for sequels.

As I've mentioned on a few occasions I'm using a small desk lamp to back light my black linen making it a lot easier to stitch. And despite my claims that I would never stitch on black again, I already know that's a lie, I've already got another pattern planned.

Romeo really likes this little lamp as it produces a lot of heat. If he isn't sticking his face into it or warming his toes under it. He's trying to lie down. So I moved it up to the top plat form of this little kitty tree and tipped the head down so it was closer to him. I think he liked it.

And he's a picture of the progress I've made on the Romeo cross-stitch as of tonight. I've completed 2/4 pages and the last two aren't even full pages.

Won't be much longer until I'm done!

*sigh*

This writer's block is really starting to make me doubt that I'll ever be able to write again. I was really hoping that today without the cross-stitching I'd be able to sit down and finally get some writing done...it's been well over a month for me. I haven't had any luck today not even with a prompt from Shuffles.

I've thought of a couple of things but they've never made it past the initial idea either it doesn't spark enough for me or I ask myself what's the point? I already know that there are readers who would enjoy anything but I just can't seem to get anywhere. And worse yet, I don't really feel much like writing...I really want this to change, I need it to change. I miss writing!

I really Really hope not, but I'm beginning to wonder if this block is a side effect of the meds, wouldn't be the first time this happened but I don't think it feels quite like the Celexa

As promised here is the picture of Dex completely finished!

Oh and as an added bonus for you [personal profile] neekabe I have some pictures of Wendy's new story. It's so wonderfully huge! And the most amazing part is, this is all the stuff that they had in the old store. They were really crammed in there tight.

I though the Avid Reader was an amazing store back in its original home, but this is perfect! Love the little fireside lounge too that just makes it.

Look they have sunlight now! or they would if it wasn't raining out and you can see Jules waving ^_^

I think I'd really love to work there! I'm not really one for wanting to work so closely with the customers but I do love Wendy she's got a cheerful personality. She one of those people who you can't help but be cheerful when you're around her. I could use all the cheering I can get.

Good Times

I'm still feeling hugely blocked in the writing department, a few vague ideas bobbing around in my head but nothing concrete. It might just be that I can't really think of how to start anything or that I haven't taken enough time to do it. In either case at least the cross-stitching is keeping me busy.

Here's the progress as of today.

As I said yesterday I only have the water left to do and then it'll be done. My aunt is planning on framing it so I wouldn't have to bother completing the back like I was originally planning.

Oh look! it's two kitties, who are pro at looking comfy when they sleep.

Romeo was curled up under a blanket with my sister.

Went out for a walk today...and was a very bad kitty! I stopped in on my sister at work and she got me to by and shirt and hoodie, which I love! But probably shouldn't have bought right now *hangs head* But I love them &hearts!!

At [personal profile] seregil's suggestion I went looking for decent pictures to take of autumn that I could share. I was also hoping to catch some of the filming that's started up again for Happy Town but either they're done again or just for the weekend so I'll check back next week.

Needless to say I didn't find much that wanted to take a picture of, so you'll get dead/dying salmon.

Pictures taken 'cause the fish are just so big!

That is all ^_~
